Gloria Laird, a native of Lewisburg, PA, received her Masters in Art Education in 2003, and her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1973, both from Penn State. She also received a Bachelor of Elementary Education from Bloomsburg in 1969. Gloria began her professional career in banking for ten years while sons Robert and Jeff were growing up and later at one point she and her son Robert (Bobby) were in college at the same time. Gloria and her husband Bob traveled extensively traversing the United States 12 times until in 1996 he became too ill to travel. In 2001 after 53 years of marriage Bob died and 4 months later her son Robert passed away. After a much needed vacation she again enrolled at Penn State for her Masters Degree. Art is Gloria's passion. With the support of her son Jeff, also an art teacher, Gloria continues to paint with great zeal. Her work has been exhibited at Penn State's Zoller Gallery, the Brad Shoemaker Gallery, and the Packwood House Museum, both in Lewisburg and several other venues. Her creativity has been enriched through travels in Europe. She resides at her family home in Lewisburg, PA.
